You can expect to get 25+ years out of them in the can - and probably as many as 30 to 40 since there is no water or oxygen in the can to spoil the cheese!!! Preparation: Either eat right out of the can or rehydrate and use like regular cheese. To rehydrate the cheese, just add 2 cups of water to 1 cup of cheese and let it sit for 5 minutes. Then drain excess fluid and pat dry cheese with paper towel. That's it, now you have fresh, shredded Mozzarella Cheese ready to be used in any recipe! It will melt just like regular store bought cheese. Use it to make a toast or sandwich, add it to casseroles, pizzas, soups, salads, tacos, or any other recipe calling for Mozzarella Cheese.
